VESA Mount Adapter Kit for iMac and LED Cinema or Apple Thunderbolt Display

This VESA Mount Adapter Kit allows your 24-inch or 27-inch iMac computer, 24-inch or 27-inch LED Cinema Display, or Apple Thunderbolt Display to be used with a variety of alternative mounting solutions, such as wall mounts and zero-footprint articulating arms, based on the VESA flat-panel mounting interface (FPMI).

With a tool in this kit, you can remove the iMac or display stand and attach the VESA Mount Adapter. Then connect any VESA-compliant mounting solution with a 100 mm x 100 mm attachment. With the VESA Mount Adapter attached, your computer or display complies with the VESA MIS-D, 100, C version specification.

Sleek. Portable. Durable.

How did you come up with the idea for this product?

When the MacBook 12-inch came out, we loved the concept of a super thin, highly portable working device. But we soon ran into a major problem. We couldn’t connect our USB devices to our laptops as we used to, which disrupted our workflow. So we decided to tackle the problem head-on and came up with a solution that we’re pretty proud of.

What makes your product special?

We designed the mini adapter to have the same elegant feel and quality as the Apple MacBook 12-inch. It’s even constructed from the same aluminum alloy material. Because it’s light and compact, the mini adapter provides a working solution that perfectly complements the MacBook’s portability.

What has been the best part of your startup experience?

The best startup experience so far has been seeing customers rave about a product that we’ve spent months designing, prototyping and testing. It makes it all worthwhile. We get really pumped up by being able to make a difference in someone’s day through our product experiences.

The iMac “Core i5” 2.7 21.5-Inch Aluminum (Late 2013/Haswell) features a 22 nm “Haswell/Crystalwell” Quad Core 2.7 GHz Intel “Core i5” (4570R) processor with four independent processor cores on a single chip, a 4 MB shared level 3 cache, 8 GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, a 1TB Hard Drive, and an “integrated” Intel Iris Pro 5200 graphics processor with 128 MB of “Crystalwell” embedded DRAM (and shared system memory). It also has a built-in “FaceTime HD” webcam and stereo speakers, but lacks an optical drive. This model has a 21.5″ 1920×1080 LED-backlit 16:9 widescreen IPS display with the “cover glass fully laminated to the LCD and anti-reflective coating.” The rear of the case is aluminum and is thicker in the middle and tapers to a razor thin 5 mm at the edges. Connectivity includes four USB 3.0 ports, dual Thunderbolt ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n compatible), and Bluetooth 4.0. Compared to its predecessor, this model essentially has the same external enclosure, but it has a much more efficient “Fourth Generation” processor and architecture, as well as faster graphics, faster Wi-Fi, and the option of faster storage. The “Late 2013” iMac models shipped with a compact aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard and the choice of either a multi-touch “Magic Mouse,” a multi-touch “Magic Trackpad,” or a traditional wired Apple mouse.
